Catfeine Coordinator (Part Time)

These positions will average 15-20 hours per week and starting pay is $10.00/hr.

Our hours will be 11-7pm Tuesday through Thursday, 11-9pm Friday and Saturday, 12-5pm on Sunday. 

We are not looking for employees that can only work during the week, or only on weekends.  With only 3 employees, we need flexible employees that can work during the week and on the weekends...in the afternoons and evenings.

 

Summary: 

Catfeine Coordinators will be responsible for providing support to all areas of the business;  this includes the Coffee and Retail store, the Cat Lounge and Retreat, and back of the house areas including the kitchen and restrooms. 

 

Essential Responsibilities:

Coffee and Retail:

  • Actively engage customers in a friendly and professional manner throughout their visit.

  • Assist and answer any customer questions.

  • Process sales transactions of all goods using the Square point of sale system.

  • Check customers in that have booked appointments online.

  • Ensure everyone has signed the required waiver in the waiver system prior to entering the cat lounge.

  • Keep the area clean and organized as per outlined protocols.

  • Monitor and keep coffee beans, milk and cocoa powder stocked in the Virtu coffee machine.

  • Maintain daily, weekly and monthly cleaning protocols outlined for Virtu coffee machine.

  • Keep all products stocked and displays organized.

  • Assist with inventory as needed.

  • Coordinate with the volunteers and/or employees working in the cat lounge area as needed to ensure customers have the best experience possible, and cats are given the utmost care.

  • Notify management of any issues or concerns immediately.

  • General back of the house duties throughout the shift.

 

Cat Lounge and Retreat:

  • Monitor customers in the cat lounge to ensure cats are being handled appropriately and complying with Catfeine rules.  Notify manager of any issues or concerns.

  • Actively engage customers in the cat lounge, assist and answer any questions.

  • Provide a safe, clean, organized, and pleasant experience for cats and customers.

  • Follow and maintain cleaning, sanitation, and disease prevention protocols in order to provide a safe, clean environment in the cat lounge and retreat. This includes a LOT of litter box cleaning.

  • Provide cats with appropriate food and water.

  • Provide cats with mental stimulation and enrichment, social interaction with humans, and interaction with other cats in foster care.

  • Monitor health of cats and rapidly identify any health issues and report to manager.

  • Monitor behavior of cats and rapidly identify any issues that may require special action and report to manager.

  • Provide basic grooming services to cats as needed.

  • Administer adoption applications to customers upon request.

  • Facilitate good adoption matches through conversation and help set realistic expectations of time, care, and financial commitment.

  • Assist with photos and writing cat profiles for use in the cafe, online and social media.

  • Coordinate with the volunteers and/or employees working in the cat lounge area as needed to ensure customers have the best experience possible, and cats are given the utmost care.

  • General back of the house duties throughout the shift.

 

General Housekeeping-Back of House (Kitchen and Bathrooms):

All employees are responsible for back of house duties throughout their shift.

  • Keep kitchen and hall areas clean and organized per outlined protocols.

  • Keep bathrooms stocked with soap, toilet paper and towels.

  • Keep bathrooms clean per outlined protocols.

  • Take trash to the dumpster as needed.

 

Qualifications, Knowledge,Skills and Abilities:

To qualify for this job you must possess the following:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Authorized to work in the US

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check

  • Ability to be in constant contact with cats

  • Ability to handle cats of all sizes, ages, temperaments and needs safely and appropriately

  • Ability to provide friendly, professional,and compassionate customer service with maturity and good judgment

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to speak in front of groups of people.  

  • Social media savvy (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, etc). 

  • Ability to participate in live video streaming such as Facebook live.

  • Excellent computer skills.  (google drive, Microsoft office, email, typing, etc.)

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, squatting, bending, lifting, stooping, carrying, and reaching.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.

  • Minimum 1 year experience working with, volunteering, or fostering cats preferred.

  • and most importantly....MUST LOVE CATS!!!
