Catfeine Coordinator (Part Time)

Approximately 15-20 hours per week.

Two weekday evening shifts 3:00pm-8:00pm

Rotation shifts on Saturdays and Sunday 10am-3pm/3pm-8pm

Pay $13-$15 per hour depending on experience

Catfeine Coordinators are responsible for providing support to all areas of the business including retail customer service, cleaning and providing care and oversight of fostered cats in our care from local rescue organizations. This description serves as an outline of basic duties.  Other duties may be assigned at any time.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

Coffee and Retail:

  • Actively engage customers in a friendly and professional manner throughout their visit.

  • Assist and answer any customer questions.

  • Process sales transactions of all goods using Square point of sale system.

  • Check in customers that have booked appointments online or as walk-ins.

  • Monitor the booking calendar to ensure that we aren’t overbooking each session.

  • Ensure everyone has signed the required waiver prior to entering the cat lounge.

  • Keep the area clean and organized as outlined on the daily checklists.

  • Monitor and keep coffee supplies stocked in the coffee machine.

  • Keep all retail products stocked and displays organized throughout the shift.

  • Assist with inventory as needed.

  • Open shipments received and putaway products.

  • Count the cash drawer per our guidelines.

  • Coordinate with the volunteers and/or employees working in the cat lounge area as needed to ensure customers have the best experience possible, and cats are given the utmost care.

  • Notify management of any issues or concerns immediately.

 

Cat Lounge:

  • Monitor customers in the cat lounge to ensure cats are being handled appropriately and complying with Catfeine rules.  Notify the manager of any issues or concerns.

  • Actively engage customers in the cat lounge, assist and answer any questions.

  • Provide a safe, clean and pleasant experience for cats and customers throughout the shift.

  • Follow and maintain cleaning, sanitation, and disease prevention protocols in order to provide a safe, clean environment as outlined on the checklist.

  • Provide cats with appropriate food and water throughout the day

  • Provide cats with stimulation and enrichment, social interaction with humans, and interaction with other cats in foster care.

  • Monitor the health of cats and rapidly identify any health issues and report to the manager.

  • Document any health concerns in the health notebook.

  • Monitor behavior of cats and rapidly identify any issues that may require special action and report to the manager.

  • Provide basic grooming services to cats as needed. Bushing, washing face, nail trims, etc.

  • Administer medications as needed.

  • Administer adoption applications to customers upon request.

  • Facilitate good adoption matches through conversation 


Litter Room:

All employees are responsible for cleaning the litter room throughout their shift.

  • Keep litter boxes scooped each hour.

  • Sweep the floors after each scoop.

  • Wipe down boxes with wipes as needed.

  • Empty the trash as needed.


Kitchen and Bathroom:

All employees are responsible for Kitchen and Bathroom duties throughout their shift.

  • Keep kitchen and hall area clean and organized 

  • Check Bathroom throughout the shift to make sure it is kept clean.

  • Keep bathrooms stocked with soap, toilet paper and paper towels.

  • Empty the trash as needed.


  Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age (within the next 3 months)

  • Authorized to work in the US

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check

  • Ability to be in constant contact with cats

  • Ability to handle cats of all sizes, ages, temperaments and needs safely and appropriately

  • Ability to provide friendly, professional,and compassionate customer service with maturity and good judgment

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Strong moral compass

  • Ability to speak in front of groups of people.  

  • Social media savvy (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, etc). 

  • Ability to participate in live video streaming such as Facebook live.

  • Excellent computer skills.  (google drive, Microsoft office, email, typing, etc.)

  • Standing, walking, squatting, bending, lifting, stooping, carrying, and reaching throughout the entire shift.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.

  • Minimum 1 year experience working with, volunteering, or fostering cats strongly preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised.

  • and most importantly....MUST LOVE CATS!!!
