Where are you located?
We are located at 517 CASON LANE in Murfreesboro, TN

What are your hours? Our Spring hours are:

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 11am-5pm

Thursday- Closed

Saturday 11am-6pm

Sunday 12pm-5pm

The last appointment is always the hour before close.

Do I have to make a reservation?

Reservations are NOT REQUIRED, but without one you may not get in; especially on the weekends. Walk-ins are accepted only when space is available.  We have a 12 person maximum per hour. If you know when you want to come visit, book it to ensure you get in.

Do you take in, re-home or rescue cats?

No. Unfortunately, we get multiple request daily to take in cats. We are not a cat rescue but operating as a foster home for cats already vetted by our local rescue partners. We have a waiting list of cats to come to the cafe.

If you have found a stray cat or kitten please do whatever you can to help it.  If you can't help on your own, please reach out to a local rescue organization through petfinder.com.

You can also post a visitor post on our Facebook page to try to find a home for a cat in need.  You must indicate there is a vetting process and re-homing fee or the post will be removed.  No "Free cat" posts will be allowed.  There are a lot of bad people that will harm cats so do your best to protect them!

Please do everything  you can to keep your life commitment to a cat that you adopted. Most rescues can not take in cats for re-homing.

What are the age requirements to visit?

The minimum age requirement is 10 years old for one hour visits. Do not book an hour session online and show up with children under the age of 10.

We allow ages 7-9 to only do 15 minute visits.  In our experience over the past 5 years, this is the amount of time this age group can handle the stimulation of the cat lounge.

These 15 minute visits are $5 per person and only available as walk ins and are based on availability of space open in the lounge. We limit to the lounge to 3 children under the age of 10 at any given time.

One adult is required for every 2 children under the age of 13.  No children under the age of 7, including babies in strollers/carriers, are permitted in the lounge.

No minors under the age of 13 will be allowed in the cat lounge without a parent or guardian. Minors over the age of 13 can visit without a parent, but the parent or guardian must sign the waiver on behalf of the minor and check them in at the cafe. Any minor unattended by an adult must abide by the house rules or they will be asked to contact their parent or guardian to pick them up.

All guests, no matter their age, must be able to be calm, quiet, gentle and courteous.

This is a fun, but a calm, relaxing environment...not a petting zoo.

If  you can not comply you will be asked to leave.

Please review the complete RULES prior to your visit.

Are you hiring?  How can I apply? What are your age/experience requirements?
We are not currently hiring.  When positions become available we typically hire from our volunteers.
Do you have a list or photo gallery of the cats you have available for adoption?
We tried, but because it changes daily we just can not keep an online gallery up to date.  Please make sure you're following us on Facebook or Instagram to keep up with our most recent posts of cats at the café.
Do you have kittens available for adoption?
This greatly depends on the time of year it is. We will have more kittens in mid Spring and Summer. Kittens get adopted very quickly... they are usually at the cafe only a few days.   The youngest kittens we get in the cafe are around 12 weeks old to ensure they have been fully vetted.

Are there REALLY cats in there?
YES...we typically have 15-20 REAL LIVE CATS in our care that you can visit.
We are a basically a foster home for rescue cats!

How much does it cost to visit?  Why do I have to pay to pet cats? Does my purchase help support the cats?

One hour visit is $12 per person plus tax.

We're honestly not sure why anyone thinks it should or could be free to operate the cat cafe.  Like any business, we have to pay rent, utilities, payroll, and cover all of the expenses to care for the 20 cats in our care. Your cover charge is the primary source of income that allows us to provide this service to the community.

Every purchase you make directly supports the care of our rescue cats.

Do I have to take my shoes off to enter the cat lounge?
We ask all guests as a courtesy to remove their shoes prior to entering the lounge.  This helps us provide a cleaner and healthier environment for the cats in our care.  Please keep this in mind when selecting your shoes and socks for your visit.  Easy to remove shoes will help things move more quickly!  This will not be required for anyone that isn't physically able to comply. Please make sure you wear socks for your visit!  No bare feet in the lounge! We have socks available for purchase from $2-$8.

How can you have cats and serve food?  Is it clean?

We are not a Cafe in the true sense of the word.   We are not preparing or serving food at Catfeine. We offer for sale a limited menu of pre-packaged goodies.  Our self serve coffee bar offers a state of the art, bean to cup "super-automatic" coffee maker that will make your drink at the touch of a button. All drinks taken into the cat lounge will be in a cup with a lid. We promise...it is clean, and the cats won't be stirring your coffee with their paws...well...they might TRY.

I'm trying to book online but it won't let me select the correct number of people in my party.

If it's only giving you the option to book 1 or 2 people it's  because that is all that is still available in that session.  Typically you can select to book up to 9 people per visit.  Please try a different time slot to accommodate your party. Please note any party of 10 or more requires a private party booking. Attempting to go around this policy with separate bookings will be addressed and your party may not be allowed to attend.

I'm running late for my appointment.  Can you still get me in?

Yes, but your time will still end at the time you reserved.  If we are not busy we will try to be as flexible as possible, but if the next hour is full we cannot carry your time over to the next session. Traffic is very busy in our location.  You should plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to your session.

I missed my appointment.  Can I have a refund or reschedule my visit?

Unfortunately, no.  We held your spot for you, which means other customers were unable to attend during that time.  We require a 24 hour notice to refund or reschedule an appointment.

Do I have to sign a waiver?

Yes, we required a waiver prior to entering the cat lounge.  The waiver is basically an Enter at Your Own Risk/ Hold Harmless agreement that outlines the risks of hanging out with cats.

You only have to sign the waiver once, your first visit.  You can sign the waivers online at www.catfeine.net/waivers

What is the adoption process/fee?

You must be at least 21 years of age to apply to adopt and live within a 2 hour driving distance from the cafe.  Please notify our staff when you arrive if you are interesting in adopting. If you weren't planning to adopt but fall in love with a cat at Catfeine please notify a member of our staff.  You will be directed to complete a questionnaire as the first step in the adoption process, and a member or our team will review that with you.  Your answers will determine the next steps.

All adoptions require a home video tour submission as the final step for approval. The rescue will make the final decision to approve or deny all applications and will contact  you directly.

Adoption fees are $150, which is paid directly to the rescue.  The cats are fully vetted meaning up to date on vaccinations and spay/neuter.  The process usually takes 3-5 days depending on your circumstances.

When is the best time to visit?

That depends on what you hope to get out of your visit.  Weekends are busiest, so you will likely have more people in your session than you would on a weekday. More people means less individual interaction with the cats.  The cats are usually most active from around 11:00am-2:00pm and then again in the evenings...but we can't promise this will be the case when you visit because, well, they're cats... and they pretty much do what they want.  Please note we can not control when cats sleep or hide.

How can I volunteer to help?

We can't say enough how much we appreciate your support.  We will occasionally be utilizing volunteers through our non-profit rescue partners to support the cat lounge. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.  Learn more here:  https://www.catfeine.net/volunteer

Can I book a party at the cafe?

Absolutely, but there are certain guidelines and limitations we have had to implement to ensure the best environment for our cats and other guests. For example, Kid's parties are very limited and must be at least 12 years old.

We also require a private booking for any group of 10 or more people.  This ensures your party isn't invasive to our other paying guests.

You can review them here:  PARTY GUIDELINES

Weekend availability for parties is very limited as we are typically already very busy.
Private bookings are $200 per hour plus tax.
Can I bring my cat (or a cat I found) to the cat cafe?

NOOOOO!!!! Please do not bring cats to the cafe! We will have plenty of kitties to entertain you, but unfortunately we can not allow cats be brought in to the cafe.  It's not because we don't love ALL kitties, we just have very strict rules and guidelines to follow regarding vetting and socialization of our cats.

Are there risks of being scratched or bitten by a cat?

Unfortunately, yes.  Cats are animals with claws and teeth, and can sometimes be unpredictable even in the best of circumstances.  We will make every effort, along with our rescue partners, to select cats that are social and happy to be around people, however we can not 100% eliminate your risk. You must agree to enter at your own risk and are required to sign a waiver before entering the cat lounge. Click HERE learn more about what to look for in a cat's body language to help minimize your risk.

How do you open a Cat Cafe?  Can you help or give advice on how to start a cat cafe?

This is a question we get asked multiple times a week.  It's not easy to answer and we just simply can't respond to everyone.  Opening a cat cafe is very difficult due to the amount of regulations that vary by city, county and state.  What we went through in Tennessee may not be the same as your location.  We will be starting a TikTok series detailing what we did to open, so please follow us @catfeinecatcafe if you want to learn.

Do you take toy/food/litter donations?

Absolutely, thank you so much!

The cats at the cafe eat Blue Buffalo Tastefuls Adult- Chicken dry cat food.

We use Tidy cat Free and Clean litter, and any new toys are always welcomed!

Sorry, we can not accept used items such as toys, beds or opened food or prescription food.

You can view our Amazon Wish List to see other items we need frequently.  They can be bought locally or through Amazon..in any size you'd like to provide.

We also accept donations via Paypal and Venmo.

Please note: Donations are not tax deductible. We are operating as a self funded Limited Liability Corporation. 100% of all donations go directly to the support of caring for the cats in our care.

We appreciate  your support!
